Aftercare Guides
Ear Piercing Aftercare
Twice a day:
-
Wash your hands thoroughly with soap
-
Allow water to run, spray or soak (if using a non spray saline or bottled water) your piercing's entrance and exit wounds and let it sit for a few minutes
-
Gently wipe away any crusty formations around the piercing with saline soaked gauze, or clean tissue. Pat the piercing dry with clean tissue.
-
Do not use cotton based products such as swabs as this leaves fibers around the jewelry
-
-
As crusties reduce, reduce the frequency of cleaning
The golden rules:
-
Outside of cleaning, keep your piercing dry
-
Wash your hands before touching your piercing
-
Using a sterile .09% sodium chloride solution or warm drinkable quality running water

Sleep with jewelry in for the first year
Notable things to avoid:
-
Cleaning with your own sea salt solution, contact lens solution, "piercing aftercare solutions" or any harsh products such as alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, antibacterial soaps etc.

-
Rotating or playing with the jewelry
-
Scratching or picking crusties
-
Sleeping directly on a healing piercing, as it can cause it to heal wonky
-
Submerging the piercing in unclean water such as lakes, pools, etc.
What to expect:
-

Swelling can occur straight away, after a few weeks, or after piercing is knocked
